6.1.6 update, web pages grey out, function don't work etc

OS 10.7.5 , older version 5 safari, worked perfect. Did the safari 6.1.6 update, all **** let loose. pages freeze, won't load.

pages load but when you scroll down the pages grey out and can't be read, scroll back to the top they reappear.

Access a link on a page to another page it loads and is visible then greys out

Downloads, all works fine, open the downloads tab and created with a blank white list, files are there you just can't see the names, click and the files open….. boys that's a great game…………….

cleared the cache, reset safari, run the diagnostic, repaired permissions etc etc etc to no improvement…….

give me back my old safari 5 that worked just fine………. what a dog of an "upgrade"

pages also initially load then grey out, can't be seen. why is this

some other software like grab, all the pull down menu text is not readable, either all blacked out or greyed out.

I downloaded 6.1.6 from apples iTunes.

Safari 5.1.10 should run in Lion. I've not used it for over a year, but my Lion installation shows Safari 5.1.7 is installed. As for you kernel panic,

one Most likely culprit is of these:

Boot into safe mode (restart holding down SHIFT key). If no KP, then uninstall and reboot. If KP, then most likely hardware related. Run the Apple Hardware Test suite, extended tests at least twice, followed by Rember. See
