Q: is it worth it

     hey guys i have an iphone 5s and i downloaded ios 8 via ota and im hearing people saying it got lot of bugs...is it worth or better it to delete the update and update via itunes?look i dont have a problem to download it via itunes.So whats the best>Thanks

    The reports you hear are anecdotal. iOS is working fine for me (and many many others). Having said that, if you are concerned, do not update.

    You're going to get the same update by doing it over the air or on iTunes. The difference is that iTunes will require less free space on your iPad to do the update. I had to open up about 5 or 6 GB of free space to complete the operation of updating to iOS 8.1 from iOS 8.0.2 ...

     

    However, you might want to do a "clean system install" and that's when you use your iTunes program to reset your device to factory default condition ... and therefore you are not installing on top of an older system, but are installing it "fresh and clean". You might do that, and no matter what, this kind of install will produce the best results possible, with any upgrade!

     

    Here are some Apple Support documents for backing up your device, so use your iTunes program to do that. The last link shows you how to do a reset to factory default by using iTunes.

    Many have no issues either way (OTA vs iTunes) as far as updating iDevices. That being said and going by what's posted here as far as updating issues go, it seems to be better to update via iTunes than OTA. The OTA method may be convenient for some (especially those that don't have a syncing PC to do the update on) but seems to be more prone to errors, again, just going by the info presented here in the forums. A vast amount of free storage is needed on the device for OTA updates with a minimum being about ~6-7 GB on a full iOS 8.1 update (delta updates are substantially smaller).

     

    Because of the vast free storage requirement and owning only 16 GB devices, I have personally never updated via OTA. I have always updated via iTunes and have never had an issue. If you are able to update via OTA or iTunes, I would personally use iTunes. You can take that as a suggestion or choose to totally ignore it just as well.
