Pop up I can't get Rid of

I have a Pop up in new tab of Safari named "(1) Windows Firewall warning: YOUR COMPUTER HAS MALWARE/SPYWARE DETECTED" linked to "newsalert.report-o.com/bo/ca" and tells you to call a 1-800 number to fix it. It has no X to close it, only an OK at the bottom. Can't close from File menu, have to force quit/shut down but its still there.

Ok, so I went offline, shut down and restarted and opened Safari with the Shift key down, and closed out the websites. Then I cleared all website data and cookies. It's gone and there isn't anything unordinary in my downloads folder. I opened my activity monitor but that's like trying to read a different language to me! Do you think its gone or could I still be at risk :$ Thanks so much for your help!

i came across this posting because I had a similar problem. I got a pop-up window on Safari from a website called mac-health-warning_dot_com (people, I spelled it that way so it does not show up as a clickable URL).

ANyhow, I just wanted to add to your reply that I picked up this pop-up window when I went to a website called 'Find Movies Online_dot_net". (Again, don't click this URL either). I was also trying to find free movies online. I will not be going back to that website again!
