How about a small strip of aluminum foil folder over a couple of time and folded to fit the edge where the lens is located? You can then slide it back and forth to block the camera when you want to do that.

If you're on a budget or in a hurry, use an opaque sticker or piece of opaque tape that covers the lens. Then open the Photo Booth app on your Mac to make certain no recognizable images can be transmitted from your iSight camera. If you ever intend to use the iSight camera again, understand that some residue from a sticker or tape might remain on the screen glass over the camera port.

Yes, I am using a piece of tape at the moment, fortunately it does not leave any noticeable or visible residue. I do still clean it every so often before use. I have tried the C-slide but it keeps falling off. All other ones have the same problem or won't let my Mac Book Air close the screen. I'm also worried about my iPhone. I need a solution for that. I'm hoping the one I ordered from the crowdfunding campaign will work well 🙂

Anything that covers camera hole will "work well".
I use this webcam cover. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. It just has to work!

Strip of aluminum foil folded over the of the monitor. Just slide it out the way when you wish to use the camera.
Not eco-friendly. They don't stick long enough and I use webcam often. Money's well-spent for a good webcam cover with a slider.
