If the effect is not showing up on any other kind of image then the camera is fine. It appears it's just the way the camera is interacting with the light from the display. Changing the angle to a more direct on view might make it go away, or it make it worse, or no change at all. You'd have to experiment. I wouldn't be concerned about it though.

It looks like a polarizing effect. Is that an LCD TV screen or monitor you were taking a photo of?
