Messages window jumping around the screen

Hi All,

This is a bit of a known issue with no real fix yet.

It seems it is worse if the Messages window is grabbed right at the top edge when the change size icon then appears.

Of course you can "slide" a click as it were to that spot .

Some have said it effects trackpads more then mouse systems but I have seen no real proof of that.

I have seen it once in Terminal as well (a badly aimed click with a bit of drag that then dangled th Terminal window for a moment).

I have seen all Macs listed as suffering from this, Retina Displays, no Retina ones, Laptops and desktops and so on.

Same problem here and it's driving me insane! I switched from a dual screen Mac Mini to a MBP and now I have to toggle windows and find this very irritating.

I thought I was going crazy, because it seemed to only be happening to me.

This needs a fix, because it's annoying to have open and try to message people, but always skip across the screen when changing between applications. (You can't simply click back onto Messages to read the newest message, because it wigs out and you have to constantly drag it around.)

Apple! Please give us a "center window" option in addition to maximization and minimization, please!

What happens is that if you re-focus on the Messages window, then the next time you click on the window, it will jump so that the top of the window arrives at where you clicked. So, your second click should always be near the top edge of the window. It's still annoying, but at least you don't have to then move the window back, as it mostly stays put.

I have figured a way around the issue. Avoid clicking at the top of the window. Click inside the message pane or at the bottom of the window and it will not jump. If you need to grab the window to move it make sure to click inside the message pane or at the bottom after you move it.

I have a similar problem. Window application Messages sometimes skips across the screen. It looks as if the window was caught cursor even if you're elsewhere and in other applications.

Same problem here. It happens only with Messages, and occurs on my two MacBooks and my desktop Mac Pro.
