Keyboards drops after typing 1 letter in Google search box. Using iPad with IOS 8.1

I have the same problem since iOS 8, only on iPad not iPhone.

I tried everything I could think of and everything suggested except wiping my iPad and starting again.

Success - I downloaded the Swiftkey keyboard app from the app store and installed it as a new keyboard.

The problem is now gone, and the keyboard is very okay too.

I have had this problem since my latest IOS update. Today I went to my local Sydney Apple store. This is what they did and the problem is solved.

open Safari....Google.

find the Settings cog wheel top right.

touch the wheel, select Search Settings and select NEVER SHOW INSTANT RESULTS.

Save.

IT worked for me.

Thank you very much; my own 'fix' was to use Swiftkey as a substitute, however it has it's own shortcomings.

What I have tried myself was to tap on the search field about two or three times before typing in the text.

And yes... It started after 8.0 update!
