Troubleshoot FCP 7 installation

Hi everyone,

Just bought a new Mac and immediately upgraded to Yosemite when I opened it. I'm trying to install FCP 7 and every time the installation begins and then stops mid-way stating 'Installation Failed'. I'm new to Mac...is there any way to get this program to install?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

maybe. But fcp7 was NOT designed to work with Yosemite or even Mavericks. I have it working fairly dependably with Mavericks, so you might consider regressing to Mavericks.

You might consider making disk images of the fcp install disks to speed up the installation process.
