iPad Air iOS 8.1 sound loudness not adjustable

Hi

When I go to settings > sound there is a controller in top to change loudness.

When I use this I hear a very loud short click noise and then a sound.

This sound goes louder.

But I cannot change the loudness of sound.

Near minimum and near maximum of controller the loudness is always the same?

It's very loud.

I'm not so familiar with this device and iOS.

I buy this first iPad some days before.

I know from Mac OS X the behavior of this type of changing.

If I move the controller in Mac OS X the loudness will change low or loud.

Please give feedback

Hi Try a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down together until you see the Apple Logo You may need to do this more than once. Cheers Brian

Now I hear nothing?

Not by using tastatur.

Not in sound changing?

Maybe a bug in iOS 8.1

I Have the same thing. You have to reset the ipad again. If you are lucky it is gone for some time. If not it alters between the loud popping sound and no sound at all.

Maybe it is a hardware issue (static charge ?)

Bring your ipad back to Apple and request a new one. At the Berlin Apple store they say they never heard of this problem...

Now feedback

I had a call with Apple support.

They give me a proposal for workflow to solve the problem.

Datas from iPad are stored on MBP.

Then a new iOS8.1 was installed on iPad.

So the iPad was fresh.

After that the problem was first the same.

Tones don't work

Virtual keyboard don't have acoustic feedback by hitting.

Siri don't give acoustic feedback, only answer on screen.

Then I use the ear earphone.

Tones work

Virtual keyboard give acoustic feedback by hitting.

Siri give acoustic feedback and answer on screen.

Then I disconnect the earphone and no problem was present.

Tones work.

Virtual keyboard give acoustic feedback by hitting.

Siri give acoustic feedback and answer on sreen.

So I think it is a hardware problem and will call Apple support again on Monday.
