I activated Airtel 4G plan on iPhone 6. Started Data Service and Enable LTE in iPhone 6 setting. However, iPhone 6 doesn't show Airtel LTE sign and shows only Airtel E or Airtel 3G sign in Airtel Bangalore network.

I have the same problem with my i6.. the logo wont change to LTE and remains to show 3G

Not yet. However, Apple Support suggested that Airtel suppose to setup APN to universal gprs in their system for enabling LTE for respective phone no. Informed Airtel about it and expecting resolution by Nov 2
MY friend does have the same carrier as me which is **, but hers is showing LTE whenever she turns it on, Mine doesnt.
where do you think i can relay this

I guess you are in UAE with ** Telecom and have original nano SIM from ** (and not cut SIM by shop). And you have 4G / LTE plan activated by ** for your phone. You may try following options -
1. Switch-off i6, remove SIM and put it back and switch on i6
2. Go to setting->general->reset-> reset network (i6 will reboot)
If still doesn't work then you may log call with Apple Support and ** customer support.

Same is happening here in Amritsar Airtel network. After calling customer care many times they are now started claiming that they don't have LTE compatible bandwidth for iPhone 6 right now. It is restricted to iPhone 5s/5c only.
At back side of your iPhone 6, model no. is mentioned starting with A15xx. What is it?
By March 2015 - Reliance Jio will also start offering LTE.
My iPhone model no. is A1586. Anyways it's working now! 🙂

My friend reported similar issue on iPhone 6 Plus A1522 model on Airtel Bangalore network. He also doesn't get Airtel LTE but Airtel 3G.
can you please tell me how you are getting LTE sign on Airtel network from Bangalore. Even i tried of using so many ways but no luck .. still it shows 3G 😟

I have visited Airtel & they have provided me with a Nano SIM of 128k. No where the SIM displays LTE. The phone does not pick up LTE Signals of Airtel. It only picks up an E or 3G even in the areas of Bangalore with LTE Signals. Alternatively my friend has purchased a similar iPhone 6 from USA & it supports the LTE network. It displays LTE, but not mine. I have escalated the issue & even mailed them repeatedly. There is absolutely no response. They only claim that the USA bought iPhone does not support the LTE network? Is this the truth?
I spoke to Apple Technical Support & they claim that iPhone6 supports LTE, not all networks due to Network restrictions from carrier...I have found that LTE is activated in many other countries that I traveled.
How to get over this concern?? Please suggest...
Click on this link to Apple's website. It shows which countries have LTE service for different models. For 1549, there is no mention of India...see for yourself.

Thanks for your mail. I have opened the link & seen that TDLTE on 2300 MHz as operated by Airtel India is not assigned to the A1549 model...
Is there any way to modify it to pick up the LTE signals?
