Q: Mail rejecting password

So as of Wednesday, October 29, 2014, Mail in Snow Leopard 10.6.8 is outright rejecting my iCloud/MobileMe password. I changed my password over a month ago for the 2-step verification, and modified the account accordingly, no problems. This is not an internet issue, as it is affecting my MacBook Pro and home iMac. Anyone else getting this?

Try going to Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access and delete the password from there. While there, run Keychain First Aid.

No luck with anything I did on the keychain. Since it happened on 2 separate computers at the same time, could the error be on the mail server side?

Possible. See if you can successfully log into the web site and change the password.

Last time I tried (within past 2-3 months), Snow Leopard (maybe due to 2-step authentication?) couldn't get fully logged into iCloud. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but...

You could maybe log in from a Mac with newer version of Mac OS X and do it, but I've not found Snow Leopard to be able to login to the iCloud page. You might be able to do it by logging into the Apple.com page where you go to manage your AppleID account (can someone who has that link please post it?), and try from the settings page in there, though.

Yeah, I thought that may be the case as well. I signed up for the 2-step authentication about 6 weeks ago, so Mail did work under Snow Leopard for a while. It is a little too coincidental that as soon as Yosemite comes out, Snow Leopard Mail no longer works, and I get annoying pop-ups from the MAS telling me to upgrade to Yosemite. If that turns out to be the case, it would be a major disappointment with Apple.

I'm just going to schedule a Genius Bar appt. and let them figure it out. Appreciate the feedback all.
