Boss GT 100

Hi guys,

I have recently purchased a Boss GT 100 and after initial setup it worked well in GarageBand. Now however the sound quality is very poor and there is no sustain on the guitar sound and it dies after 2-3 seconds. I have checked that the input is the boss and the output is the built in speakers.

Any help would be appreciated as I am pulling my hair out trying to solve this.
