iFELIX HELP ME - Windows Printing

Okay, ive read you helping a lot of other people with their windows printing problems, ive read the little guide you suggest, and ive even downloaded those 3rd party gimp and Hpijs drivers, yet i still am unable to print. I have an HP PSC 1510, in the 1500 series, connected via USB to my pc. its shared, and everything blah blah blah. I can find it with the "more printers -> windows printing" buttons in the print utility. I can even read that it says HP PSC 1510 as the name of the printer. When it asks me to choose the model, there is no PSC 1500 series in the driver list. Even after installing gimp drivers and Hpijs drivers, there is no PSC 1500 series. It makes me more aggrivated that the 3rd party drivers included just about every other PSC series, except the 1500 series. Please help me.

There is however another method, make your PC into a postscript RIP/server (it translates postscript and sends the result to the printer) as outlined on this webpage.

http://iharder.sourceforge.net/current/macosx/winmacprinter/

This document gives a detailed explanation of how to set up an HP DeskJet 722C printer that is attached to a Windows XP computer so that the printer can be used by a Mac OS X computer on a local area network (LAN). If your printer is slightly different, or you have a different version of Windows, or you're using a different Unix than Mac OS X, you'll have to adapt these instructions with your own creativity.

Not tried it myself yet, but according to what I have read it can work.

http://www.twistermc.com/blog/2005/06/21/bonjour-for-wireless-mac-pc-printing

Bonjour is supposed to solve all thoes problems.

You load it on your Mac and your PC...BOOM it works. I am still running OS 10.3.9, so I cannot try it.

HOWEVER, one IT guy told me that it creates a lot of internet traffic. And, your IT guy might have to unlock some things inorder to let you do this.
