How is it not working – and what are your system specs?
Russ
Late 2009 IMac with 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB memory. When you try to start up FCP a screen comes up that states: You can’t use this version of the application “Final Cut Pro.app” with this version of OS X.
WWhat version are you using? Only the current version, 10.1.3, works with Yosemite. You need to update in the App Store.
it works, but I'm getting dropped frames like crazy. At first I thought it was a drive issue, but I have the same problem on my internal SSD in a small project. Any ideas?

MacBookPro i7 2.2 GHz 8GB RAM Yosemite 10.10 FCPX 10.1.3.
I have the same issue. I just updated to Yosemite and I'm on Final Cut version 10.1. When I check the App Store, there is no update available. What gives?
Can I have more details of your setup?
I'm on with apple support and they say they're never heard of this. For me, it's totally obvious.
They say only solution is to optimize media, but I don't want to DOUBLE (or more) the space my media takes up, thank you. It was working completely fine before Yosemite. The difference is night and day.

I have a 15 inch Macbook Pro, early 2013, 250 GB SSD, 2.7 Ghz, Intel Core i7, 16GB Ram and I just upgraded to Yosemite.
Does the app appear in the Purchases page?
Did you do a clean install of the new OS? Did you try a new user? Do you have third party plugins installed?
Hey man, yeah the app did appear in the purchases page. I just got off the phone with Apple. They had me delete Final Cut and then install the fresh 10.1.3 version off of the App Store. It's working like a charm now. Good luck!
I simply dragged FCP into the trash and then reinstalled it from the App Store and it worked fine with Yosemite. I lost all my projects, but didn't care.
actually, installing a new copy of the app should not affect project files.

well, maybe it just removed the references to them in the program, but they aren't there any more. I haven't searched the hard drive for them.
Hi Tom, I don't know if you can help me.
I'm using Final Cut version 10.1.4 with Yosemite 10.10.2 and whenever I open FCP it opens for about 5 seconds (not allowing me to click anywhere) before closing with the message "Final Cut Pro quit unexpectedly. click reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to apple automatically." I have tried opening it multiple times and the same thing has been happening over and over again and i've tried everything I could find on the internet and nothing is working.
HELP.
Jada.
TTry trashing your preferences. Hold Opt-Cmd as you launch the application.
