Q: How do I update my older iBook?

i Have an iBook Mac OS X version 10.3.6 and the serial number is UV*****PBM and I tried using youtube and it says  "your browser is no longer supported please upgrade. And I triedbupdating it by clicking the apple on the left top corner and it says " your software is up to dare" and at the bottom it says "please try again later" but when I use safari some of the pages won't load . Does anyone know how to update it? If so can someone tell me step by step. I tried downloading Google chrom but I don't know how. And the safarii looks old. But anyone tell me step by step please . Thanks.

    PBM

Your iBook can't be updated past 10.4.11. You're probably better off buying a secondhand Intel Mac instead of attempting to upgrade it.

The best browser I have found for a g4 iBook isTenFourFox.  I use it on my 1ghz ibook running 10.4.11 and you would need to upgrade to 10.4 to use it.  On mine, (10.4.11)YouTube videos will play bun not smoothly.

If you want to stay with 10.3 try Classilla.  It is put out by the TenFourFox people and is for pre 10.4 systems, including system 9.  I have never tried Classilla.

These browsers are made specifically for PPC Macs and don't use Flash or Java, protecting you from attacks.
