iOS 8.1 / iPhone 6: Playback sleep timer bug

I have one extremely irritating bug when using the clocks timer to stop the music from the iOS music app.

When the timer stops the music, the track/time/playlist disappears, so when I want to continue my audiobook or music, I have to search to find where it was stopped.

The correct function must be like the previos versions, where track and time was preserved so playback could be resumed from the same position.

Does anyone else have this problem, or does a fix/workaround exist?

Running iOS 8.1 on iPhone 6 16GB, tried restart/update.
