Nov 18, 2006 8:39 AM in response to doylefilmby Newshound, have you got a problem, i wonder, with the power adaptor, ie the little white power brick that connects your display to the mains? I have exactly the same model, bought in June and had frequent problems with the display not switiching on, then switching on erracticly. In the end, I isolated the problem to the power brick, called Apple, who admitted it was a "known issue" witht eh 23 HD Cinema display. they've now replaced the power brick and the display works just fine. I took my display to my local apple reseller who confirmed the above diagnosis.
hope this might help. good luck! -
Nov 18, 2006 8:41 AM in response to Newshoundby Newshound, just to add, it might be of course that your mac is set up to switch on the display automatically, ONCE you turn on the mac itself. that's how my g5 is set up. you hit the on button and the cpu and display come on together... -
Nov 29, 2006 1:37 PM in response to Newshoundby djdavetrouble,Well, I decided to turn my desk around. I unplugged everything and then reconnected. Now the 23" cinema display doesn't work. Then I plugged in my monitor to my coworker's 23" power brick and now his doesn't work either !
Sending both to repair, will report back.

Dec 2, 2006 6:32 AM in response to djdavetroubleby Newshound, how did it work out? Have you got things working now? -
Feb 6, 2007 6:40 AM in response to Newshoundby whereisgraeme,my display works well attached to my powerbook pro.. as do cordless keyboard / mouse etc.... Occasionally, I grab my laptop, go to a meeting, return, re-connect, and the display acts like it is not plugged-in!
Other times is works just fine.... the lap-top thinks that it is there (ie DVI is fine)
Anything that it could be other than the power adapter? I live in Mexico at the moment, and the nearest Apple dealer is, well who knows!
