Nov 2, 2014 5:24 AM in response to crookscrooksby rcgrabbag,Had the same exact problem. Was at a party last night and everyone was Airdropping photos, but I was mysteriously missing the icon in my Control Center.
To fix, power off the phone completely and power it back on, then go into the Control Center and see if the Airdrop option is there. I know that sounds lame, but that's what worked for me.
Also, try going into Settings -> General -> Restrictions and see if you have Airdrop turned off. For me, I had NO restrictions turned off, but still had no Airdrop option in Control Center. The power off/on fixed it. Still not sure what the root cause is.
