Quicktime Pro 7

I have a Quicktime 7 Pro license, but the current version of the software says the registration code is invalid. I'm wondering if I have to repurchase a new code simply because Apple now says so. Granted, my purchase was in 2007 and 7 years is a long time ago in software years. But is there any good reason why my registration code won't work on current Quicktime 7 Pro products?
