Hi all,
after yosemite update i've this strange black line on my dock.
Reboot doesn't resolve resolve the problem.
Anyone have the same problem or a solution?
My Macbook data:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15', late 2014)
2,5 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB / NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

Same issue. Cant figure out what it is and why it has appeared.
I Have the same problem. I think I may have closed the lid during the download. When I checking it I started another download. I have a grey screen at login, them it has a grey screen with a progress bar that gets stuck at one third. I'm upset and don't feel it's right I should pay for tech support for a problem caused by apple software.
okay, got apple support call and here's the 411. I recently downloaded mcaffee software.
MAybe be this will help you.
boot up in safe mode
press start button ...hold down shift key
this opens in safe mode
go to the GO button top left
open applications and uninstall any virus protection software ( or anything else that may be overriding your startup)

The simple fact of restarting in safe mode solved my problem. In my case, the black line was behind de dock. Thanks.
Try restarting the Dock.
Applications > Utilities > Terminal
Launch Terminal.
Wait until the $ sign appears .
Enter the command killall Dock
Press the Enter key on the keyboard. Wait until the prompt shows up.
Quit Terminal.
It's a remnant of the download progress bar that appears when you have the downloads folder in the dock and you've downloaded something.
Silly bug.
