How do I know if my Mac is compatible with Yosemite?

Can I go straight from Lion to Yosemite or do I need to do an incremental Lion==>Mountain Lion===>Mavericks===>Yosemite?

I have a MacBook Air, August 2011.

OS X 10.7.5, Lion (11G63), i.8 Ghz, Intel Core i7

RAM 4 GB, 1333 MHz DDR3

My MBA has 87.7 GB FREE storage out of 250.14 GB. I don't know if this is enough room for installing Yosemite. I can easily back up Photos (73.22 GB) and Movies (45.85 GB) to an external hard drive (and they are already backed up on my Time Machine, but I like "extra insurance") and then delete them from the MBA hard drive for the upgrade.

I have gotten pop-ups for software updates a few times to upgrade to Yosemite. Is this implying it's OK for me to do the upgrade? I am 100% up to date on all updates for Lion.

Thanks. Lynne

Randy,

If you look under the apple icon at th top left hand corner of your screen, you'll see and find the specs to your particular system. when you've written them down, place those specs into a post here and someone will be able to help you more thoroughly.
