Q: black screen after intalling new OS X yosemite

after installing and restarted with the new OS X yosemite, black screen appears.

Will not boot up, only black screen and the arrow (mouse) appears on black screen.

Restarted multiple times and the silver apple appears, progress bar for about 10%, then black screen.

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Hello VerniPEP,

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the computer starts loading then stops. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.
