I know I've heard that iPads/iPhones can't get viruses but is it possible that they can? While using my iPad, it keeps going in and out of apps. On Facebook, status and profiles keep getting clicked and it keeps zooming in and out. Can anyone help

Quit all the apps, reset the settings in your settings app, and when you reset the Network Settings, it will automatically reboot. If that doesn't do it, then you might have to reset it to factory default ... but no, the iPad is not infected ... :-) ...

At this point, I would go for reset to its factory default condition, using the iTunes program to get a clean system install. That way you'll clean everything out and just have it set up the way it would come from the factory. You'll need to do your backup (on the iTunes program too) and be sure you understand which stuff will be saved and which will not (from the links below). Also turn off any anti-virus program you may have on your desktop. Then when you reset it to the factory default condition, don't restore your backup just yet ... until you check it out without your data put back on it. Verify its operation first, to make sure that you know it's okay. Hopefully everything is okay at that point, otherwise you'll have to take it into Apple to check it out for any hardware failure.

You can't name a SINGLE VIRUS, out of hundreds of thousands that are "out there" on the Internet that has EVER even once infected even just a single iPad that has ever existed from the beginning of iPads!

This "reputation" exists right now, in the present, and does NOT stem from anything to do with Macs in the past. The fact of the matter is that the iOS on the iPad has shown itself to be absolutely invulnerable ... in "real life" ... right now ... to viruses that are out there in the wild!

APPLE has designed it that way and controls the ecosystem for iPads so that viruses don't have a chance against it.

Your statement on the matter is totally out of touch with the reality of the matter for iPads!

I am having the same issue with my iPad Mini since updating to iOS 8.1. I called Apple and they walked me through all the same steps you have mentioned: Restore to factory settings with iTunes, Start as New, etc. Even had a visit to the Genius Bar at a local Apple store where they performed not only a factory settings restore but also a firmware restore. Nothing has resolved the issue yet. The recommendation in the store to me was that it must have hardware going bad and the update to iOS 8.1 put it over the edge.

Seems strange that so many folks are having the same issue, all of them can not be having the same hardware issue at the same time.

Apple has no other answers for this?

Given the millions upon millions of iPhones that have been sold, not very many people have this problem. Keep in mind that this is a technical support forum. People come here with problems, not to report that their phones are fine. Also, major updates do street the hardware more than normal use so there will be a slight uptick in such reports after an update. So, no, the number of people reporting the problem here doesn't seem very strange at all. I'd agree with what you're were told at the Genius Bar. And, there are still no known viruses or trojans that affect an unjailbroken iOS device.

Apple doesn't answer here, by the way. This is a user-to-user forum.
