Does iTunes Store sell music in MP3 format?
Or are all audio files in AAC format? If more than one audio format is available, how do you specify?

Downloads are in AAC format. When you've downloaded a track/album you can then convert it into a different format : iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format - Apple Support.

Thank you.

Marvin,
Unless you really enjoy converting files, I suggest your purchase your music in MP3 format. This is easy to do at Amazon Digital Music or Google Play Music.
MP3 format works in virtually everything, including iTunes and all iDevices.
Your suggestion is a very good one ed2345. However my real question was, "Since iTunes doesn't really support Windows Vista anymore, is there any good reason why a Vista user should spend one more dollar at the iTunes Store?" King_Penguin gave me the correct answer: "No." Better to buy MP3 files from Amazon than convert AAC files.
