Cannot scan with Canon MP620 since upgrading to OS X Yosemite.

Since I upgraded my iMac to OS X Yosemite my scanner, a Canon MP620 series does not work anymore. the Image Capture window displays: "no scanner or camera connected". The Canon scanner/printer is definitely connected to there iMac, I can actually still print.

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10), Canon MP620 series

Have you tried to see if there is an updated driver from Apple? When I installed 10.10 and reconnected the same printer as yours, Apple offered a driver update.

If 10.10 does not offer and updated driver version suggest you open Apps Store and click on the Updates Tab. It should offer version 3.0 driver

To scan with MP Navigator you need to install the TWAIN scanner driver for the MP620. Canon does not provide this driver to Apple so you need to download from Canon. Here is a link to v14.11.4a which was released for OS X 10.9 but should install and function on OS X 10.10. Note that the digital signature is not for Yosemite and may be blocked from installing by Gatekeeper. To get past this, right-click on the installer and select Open from the pop-up menu that appears.
