I have an Apple TV 3rd Gen Rev A and I believe that my iPhone 5, iPad Mini, iPad Air and Mac should all discover this device by bluetooth and then be able to Airplay via peer to peer Wifi. It does not however seem to work. Is there some magic switch I should turn on somewhere?
I have updated the Apple TV to the latest OS.
iOS devices are running iOS 8.1.
Mac is running Yosemite
iPad Air Wi-Fi, iOS 8.1
Apple TV bluetooth is only for pairing with an Apple wireless keyboard.

I thought I'd read that the discovery bit was using bluetooth but maybe not. It is supposed to work though so if anyone has an ideas that would be great.
Try this:
Settings > Audio & Video > TV Resolution > 1080p HD - 60Hz
Changing this make peer-to-peer AirPlay works between my Apple TV and iOS devices.
but it still not working with my MB Air 13" 2014 Yosemite !
