Simple Ken Burns effect solution

Not a question but a tip. I was browsing the forums looking for tips on how to automate a Ken Burns style effect on a whole slew of pictures (99 for a DVD slideshow) and I came across this thread. Interesting reading, but while pondering I thought of a novel way of doing this:

Use the Ken Burns screensaver and record it using the screen record function in Quicktime. Tried it and it works. Simple and effective and looks really good!

cheers

If you don't care where the Ken Burns is zooming to and zooming out to (as with the screensaver) then you can also do this directly in iPhoto.

Put the pictures in an album, click the Share button and choose Slideshow. You will have much more control of the pace, transitions, etc. Then export the slide show in the video format you need.

If you have After Effects, there is a terrific AE preset called Prolost Burns, that makes this kind of thing painless and gives complete control over the zoom destinations, pace, transitions, etc.
