Q: iweb Widget Google Maps doesn't work anymore

Hello, I wanted to update my website and I experienced that teh Widget of Google Maps is not working anymore. You can drag it on the page and then enter an adress. If you choose "apply" it is not working. How can I solve this problem?

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10), iWeb 3.0.4 (601)

    Go to Google Maps, find your spot on the globe, grab the embed code, paste it in the HTML Snippet.

    Hello, thanks for your reply. This didn't help me unfortunately. Now I saw that also other options don't work. Such as attaching an hyper link or even the Mobile Me Widget (even when I have an Mobile Me account).

    The iWeb map widget relied on MobileMe to work.


    MobileMe closed a few years ago, so it is not possible to still have it. It's now called iCloud.


    To add a map, you either have to use the embed code Google Maps, Bing Maps or other mapservices provide.

    Yes I know and I have ICloud... I was wrong when I mentioned Mobile Me but the iWeb program still mentions Mobile Me. See the picture. I think the problem is with the version of iWeb that I am using. It is simply not compatible with the new OS version. And in the App Store I can not find any download for iWeb.

    When MobileMe did end two years ago, so did iWeb.

     

    It's not supported anymore.

     

    And it still works with the latest OS.

    This probably means that you are using iWeb 08 or iWeb 2 and you are correct that this will not run on the latest software, however iWeb 09 or 3 will, so if you want it to work, you will have to purchase iWeb 09, contained in either iLife 11 or iLife 09 via Amazon.

     

    No, of course you won't find iWeb for sale in the App store because as this thread has been telling you, both it and MobileMe have not existed for at least that last 2 years and Apple withdrew support for iWeb sometime ago along with MobileMe, which has now become iCloud.

     

    If you want iWeb 09, you will have to purchase it from Amazon - this is the only way that you can get it, but now might be a good time to move on and use some software that is both sold and supported such as EverWeb.  Take a look at it.  It is designed to be like iWeb but you can do a lot more.
