Typing specific page urls in Safari?

I apologize if this isn't the right community for this question. This new format for the ASC is pretty opaque. I was told direct this question to one of the device communities.

I sometimes post experimental webpages onto a client's site, so that they can test and evaluate the pages. Since they are not accessible by any link in the website, one must type-in the direct URL of the test page. Of course, this works as expected in Safari in OS X, but on Mobile Safari in iOS, trying to do this merely gives me a Google search for the URL I just typed in.

How does one manually type-in a specific URL in Mobile Safari? For the life of me, I can't figure it out.

Thanks,

Jim

Well, it seems Phil0124 has the answer for me. Adding http:// does the trick. Adding just www. still got me a Google search. I've gotten so used to not having to add either of those when typing URLs in desktop browsers that it never occurred to me that I needed it in Mobile Safari.

I was initially typing it like this: nameofwebsite.com/test page.html

And that gave me a Google search. Adding just www. didn't help, but adding http:// worked.

I wonder if the reason I was getting a Google search even after adding www. is because it's a brand new page and not linked to by any of the live pages?

Thanks!

Jim
