Bluetooth Magic Mouse lag / stutter .. , Apple Keyboard lag / stutter

Hello,

I recently installed fresh Yosemite OS X on my MacBook Pro, and I'm noticing a lag when I move the Magic Mouse or when I scroll up or down. With the Keyboard, sometimes I have to wait for half or a 1 second so the letters to be printed on the screen.

Did anyone faced the same issue ? I googled many forums and many people are facing the same issue even with upgrade from Mavericks to Yosemite.

Appreciate your help!

Thanks,

Joe

Thank you for posting your solution. It has helped for me. I have a MacBook Retina, 12", Early 2016 withSierra 10.12.3 and had the same problem. My mouse lag and stuttering is resolved simply by removing and reinstalling the same batteries in my keyboard. Thank you again!

I was able to figure out how to fix this using this link:

I reinstalled OS X 4 days ago. Somehow, Apple's horrible software managed to carry over my bluetooth and wifi settings (and god knows what else) form my old install. I specifically reinstalled to get rid of all that. When will Apple stop sucking at software?

I guess I should reinstall OS X - again. Is there a way to do that without copying all the broken crap from last time?

After wrangling for days on the forums and other support sites, switching off this and that, I gave up and returned 2 brand new mice to Best Buy.

This really pathetic on Apple's part for this to be happening.

For a company that is supposed to be a technology leader, and have their mouse not even work with their top-of-the-line $3300 Macbook Pro?

Really?

The Best Buy employee at customer service said they get lots of these returned because of these problems!

FIX THIS APPLE...YOU SHOULD BE COLLECTIVELY EMBARRASSED.

I am having the same crappy experience, if I use a USB mouse or the integrated track pad I do not see this issue. I have been exploring various links but almost everytime it says to check this or that either Apple removed the help feature (i.e. displaying Bluetooth power) or the file doesn't exist (e.g. com.apple.bluetooth.plist) I am already on 10.10.3. BTW, I have had nothing but problems with this overpriced Mac. Within the first couple of months the LCD died, a year later the Logic Board had to replaced (video issues), now this issue plus a line, about 4 inches, is on my LCD.

This has been driving me nuts for ages.

As long as magic mouse is within 12" of iMac all OK, but any greater distance (as normal) then dreaded stutter returns.

SOLUTION!

Remove the aluminium battery cover, replace with a cut down piece of thin plastic to stop batteries falling out (I used an expired Amazon gift card - rigid enough and edges sit neatly inside recess on each side of batteries) , and hey presto!

Works like a charm for me.

I guess the metal battery cover affects the bluetooth range. Without it I see a huge improvement.
