Bluetooth Magic Mouse lag / stutter .. , Apple Keyboard lag / stutter

Hello,

I recently installed fresh Yosemite OS X on my MacBook Pro, and I'm noticing a lag when I move the Magic Mouse or when I scroll up or down. With the Keyboard, sometimes I have to wait for half or a 1 second so the letters to be printed on the screen.

Did anyone faced the same issue ? I googled many forums and many people are facing the same issue even with upgrade from Mavericks to Yosemite.

Appreciate your help!

Thanks,

Joe

Thank you for posting your solution. It has helped for me. I have a MacBook Retina, 12", Early 2016 withSierra 10.12.3 and had the same problem. My mouse lag and stuttering is resolved simply by removing and reinstalling the same batteries in my keyboard. Thank you again!

Reminds me of the old medical maxim: if a problem has one solution, it works. If it has many, none of them work.

I've been battling with this issue intermittently for some weeks. Mouse stutter alone is extremely frustrating, but intermittently behaviour makes it even worse.

Like others, I found that turning Handover on/off, WiFi on/off, rebooting, remove the mouse and re-pairing, all seemed to "work", for a little while. Next time I reconnect - same issue appears and none of the previous "solutions" are effective.

But I think you might be on to the root cause: the DisplayPort!

I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13", Early 2015). There are two DisplayPort/Thunderbird ports near the MagSafe port on the left side. By default I plug an external monitor into the rear most, then turn on the mouse, and it stutters terribly.

After trying everything else, I tried unplugging the external monitor - bingo, no more stutter. I then tried plugging the monitor in to the other port. The mouse went stutter, stutter, perfect!

That's some pretty good evidence that all this Bluetooth mouse stutter drama might be related to other things plugged into the Thunderbird ports. Keen to hear other's experiences.

For those who may have the specific setup that I have, this is fixed by not using displayport to HDMI, but rather displayport adapter to either VGA or DVI.

And to those defending Apple on this and buying new hardware, sorry, but this is a fault of the system resources management that is in OSX, not the mouse or wireless frequency, etc, don't kid yourselves.

It seems that none is monitoring our discussions ... Where are the moderators to submit this issues to Apple ?

Every time apple releases a new OS X they have issues. Ok. Why they don't keep it as beta version until no issues in WiFi, bluetooth, ... I've heard the developers are working on 10.10.1 version which fixes some issues in the WiFi connectivity. I hope this update which still beta will be fixing the connectivity issues in WiFi and in Bluetooth.

This issue becomes crucial and I have to put my charger in order for my mouse and keyboard works correctly. Why I flipped to Apple ? I bought my Macbook to install windows on it ?? Why I should install windows ? and if it's the case why I bought Macbook from the beginning ?? And if I will install Windows 7, the 64 bit driver for connectivity will have those issues or not ? Many questions which I'm really depressed 😟 and frustrated !

I'm not positive if this will fix our problem, but it seems to be working for me for now.

Go to System Preferences/General and uncheck "allow handoff between this mac and your icloud devices".

My guess (just a guess) is that Handoff is messing with Bluetooth and causing interruptions with Bluetooth connected devices like mice and keyboards. I came to this conclusion because anytime my mouse lags or disconnects, it's while I'm using Safari, Messages or Mail, all Handoff-capable applications.

Please confirm if this works for you (until Apple releases a fix)
