black bar in dock

After installing Yosemite on my desktop & laptop I've found an odd black bar near the bottom of my screen that remains in the same position regardless of dock size. If I turn on dock hiding the bar goes away with the dock. Is anyone else having this issue? Reboots don't fix it on either of my machines.

I just noticed this too on my retina Macbook pro. I've tried killing nearly every process before I realized it was the dock itself.

I have a multi monitor setup, and it it is visible only on my external monitor (An Asus 4k monitor). It dissapears when I turn dock hiding on, or if the dock moves to the laptop's main screen. (it is *not* visible on the main screen.)

I'd like to understand what this is about. I've tried rebooting, to no effect.

Hi,

I tried a normal reboot and killing the dock. It did not help. The bar was also "stuck" in the same place on the screen, how much ever I resized the dock. I also trying "emptying" the dock so it had only the finder, and that did not help either, the bar stayed at the bottom to the right of the dock.

In the end, I solved it with a 10 second press on the power button instead of a normal reboot.
