How do i get exponents on pages on an ipad

i need to use exponents and i am unable to

If you haven't already done this, go to System Preferences > Keyboard and check "Show Keyboard and Character Viewers in Menu Bar."


Then click on the symbol in the Menu Bar, choose "Show Character Viewer", and type "Superscript" into the search field.


That will result in the following display. You can copy and paste the squared symbol (highlighted) from there. The price - free!

If you are interested in exponents which are numbers (e. g., x²) you could use an app which allows you to copy characters to the clipboard. If you have iOS 8 I recommend the "Symbols - special text characters for the iPhone & iPad" app by Rinat Khanov. The characters are divided into categories, and the Digits category includes superscripts and subscripts. (Use the developer's name to find the $0.99 app in the App Store.)
