I suddenly lost color on my iphone 6 display. Any ideas why? Did I hit a wrong button?

Settings >> General>>> Accessibility>>> Grayscale OFF
Settings >> General>>> Accessibility>>> Grayscale OFF
Grayscale was off and is off. Still no color
Do you only get the B&W on one screen or on all the screens/apps of the phone?
All screens
Try a reset: hold the home button and power/lock button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. No data will be lost. Did that help?
No

Then there is probably a hardware problem with the phone. Take it in to an Apple Store or authorized service provider for evaluation and possible replacement as it is still under warranty. If going to an Apple Store make a Genius Bar appointment before you go so you won't have to wait around.
Its the 6 plus. Turns out if you tap it with 3 fingers twice a box comes up on the screen and you can change the "filter". When the box came up and I looked under the filter category it had it on grayscale. I change dit to no filter and then got rid of the box by tapping twice with 3 fingers
Good to know. As I don't have a 6+, I was not familiar with that feature. Thanks for posting back.
Had my iPhone 6 (IOS 8.1.1) in my pocket while walking. Took it out and all displays were grayscale -- no color. Searched online for others having this problem and found a solution at another forum site.
Go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Grayscale to see if that is turned on. In my case, it wasn't. The site I was looking at suggested that if it wasn't turned on try using 3 finger touch to zoom in and out a few times and that that solved their problem. That didn't work for me.
I went to Settings>General>Accessibility>Zoom and turned off Zoom. That immediately solved the problem. The display went back to full color.
Have no idea why it worked, but it did.
My wife had that happen on her iPhone 6 (IOS 8.1.1). I got the box to come up by 3 finger tapping, but changing the grayscale setting had no effect.
So I went to Settings>General>Accessibility>Grayscale to see if that is turned on in that menu. In this case, it wasn't. I just wanted to thank you so much, kenfromvtown. I have had this issue for about 8 hours now and have on and off been on every board, asked every person, handed my phone to my teenage niece. NOTHING. Your solution was the only one that worked. I truly appreciate it!
Thank you! That worked. I actually scheduled a Genius Appointment.Backed up my iPhone 6 and was prepared to spend the afternoon at the store and then restoring...
I don't know what magic you have,@kenfromvtown but this worked -- on an iPhone 5S -- too. Thank you! Unfortunately, even after a reset, the zoom function is still a no-go.
Yep. Like a miracle, turning off zoom worked for me too! I got color again!
