iOS 8 Memory Management

I find my iPhone 6 Plus running very low on memory with only one or two apps open. I typically use an app like System Status by Techet to clear up some available RAM. But one would think that iOS would take care of keeping sufficient RAM available, but it seems that this is a problem. I have two devices that run iOS 8 (8.1) and they both suffer from this problem.

Any one else run into this?

Thanks,

Rocky

iOS manages memory very well. If you stop monitoring it your phone will work just fine; it only appears to be a problem to you because you are monitoring it. When the phone needs memory for an app it will page out the least recently used app to make memory available. This "virtual memory" capability has been a basic feature of Unix-like operating systems for 40 years, and iOS is Unix-based. You SHOULD have very little free memory available for the best performance. If you have a lot of free memory that means the phone is not using memory efficiently.
