Unable to reboot my MacBook. Just tried to use the AHT mentioned in the support page and I get a blinking image of a folder icon. Inside the image I is a ? Sign??...

unable to reboot my MacBook. I tried using the AHT diagnostics with no luck. When I reboot and press the "d" key, it takes a while but the screen shows a blinking file icon with a ? In the file image.

So that folder with the question mark inside means the Mac can't find a bootable OS. Usually means a hard drive failure.

Depending on your year, model, size and OS try booting with the "r" key pressed.

Often this means your hard drive is toast. Hopefully you've backed up.
