Where to find the text message forwarding code on iPad mini 1?

Hi

I have a iPhone 5s running iOS 8.1 and a iPad mini first gen also running iOS 8.1 both using the same WiFi network, same icloud account and both device Bluetooth are turned on

The problem come when I try to activate the text message forwarding on my iPhone 5s after switching on the text message forwarding they ask my four the codes that is shown on my iPad but on my iPad there is no codes being shown on the screen how do I fix this problem or where can I get the codes on my iPad or what should I do???

Actually I found that, in addition to what's stated in the article provided, I also needed to have my phone number enabled on the iPad, under Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, before the code would show up on the iPad

My code wasn't showing up on my macbook even though all of the email addresses were logged in and following the steps. Finally I just closed the 'Messages' app on my computer. Used the iPhone to slide the Message Forwarding to On. Then it automatically re-opened my Messages on my computer with a code. Phew, easy fix.

Okay I found out what was wrong for me

It seemed like I had blocked my own contact info therefore nothing was going through. and the code wasn't either. once I removed myself from the blocked list it worked again. Settings > Messages> Blocked> Edit
