Unknown Bluetooth "accessory" connection

Hi everyone

a couple of days ago I discovered 2 unknown active bluetooth accessories on my iPad mini (iOS8.1) (both of which were simply called "accessory"), obviously I removed them immediately. But the question remains, how did these "accessories" connect to my device in the first place without physical access?

I am very familiar with using Bluetooth as I have a Bose Sound Link and a Sony bluetooth hifi, but with those I have to find and select them on my iPad via the blutetooth menu before an established connection is made. As I was home all day by myself there was no way (that I am aware of) anyone could have gained physical access to my iPad... The slightly more concerning thing is that whoever made these connections would have been just feet away!

Please help as this has left me feeling a bit freaked out.

thanks

Hi Barry, thanks for your message!

I would completely agree with you that the devices were close by but I wouldn't have posted this if that was it. The fact is that these devices were actually connected to my iPad via blutetooth, I had to remove them by hitting the "forget this device" button.

I appreciate your thoughts I have nothing to worry about but in the last 24 hours I have had some very odd behaviour from both my iPad and iPhone as well as some other non-Apple related stuff.

But if you do think of anything else let me know as it is all greatly appreciated.
