    Hi Foxy,

The forums have been playing up lately. Perhaps you were automatically logged out (time out).

My work flow is to compose a question (or reply) in TextEdit or Pages. Select All, Copy and then go to an Apple Support Communities forum. Log in if necessary. Start a question and Paste.

    Regards,

    Ian.

It says that I am not allowed to post or update this content for some reason. Anyway here is my question:

I am looking into buying a Retina Macbook, but I don't know what all I will miss? I love having the button I can press that shows me how much power i have, and I believe that is gone, I just want to make sure. I also like having the inferred port so that I can control it with the remote, but again I am not complexity sure if I can't control it and if I can what I cant do anymore. I know I will miss (and I will actually miss it) the Super Drive, which upsets me but I love Apple so its ok. Is that all they have taken out? I have tried googling it but I haven't found anything else. Thanks.

There really isn't anything you can do anymore with the infrared remote now that Front Row is but a memory, you can monitor your battery from the screen and you can't change it anyway, and you can buy an external Superdrive. I bought one for my MacBook Pro and Mac Mini, and I've used it one time with the Mini, never with the MacBook Pro.

RAM and SSD storage are soldered in on the MBP Retina so make sure you buy a model with as much as you think you will need as you can't add it later.
