My iPad is stuck in headphone mode and won't use it's own speaker was until just a few min ago any help please

UUp until just a few min ago the speaker on my iPad air was working just fine then it went into headphone mode how do I get it back to using is own speaker

iPad Air, iOS 8.1

It is possible that you may have some dust or lint stuck in the headphone jack opening. It may not be visible via external inspection. If you have a can of spray air - attempt to clean out the headphone jack (carefully) with the spray air. If you don't have a can of air - trying blowing sharply into the headphone jack to see if lint or dust comes out. Also try the other suggestions in this post for rebooting the iPhone and making sure that you do not have the phone muted.

You're welcome. Thanks for sharing the solution, I haven't had a laugh like I just had in a long time. Something to remember, music apps can play in the background so turning off the music isn't enough. Always give music apps a double click of the home button and swipe them closed. Next time the kids get funny at least the music won't wake you up in the middle of the night. Glad to hear everything worked out.
