how to install 10.3 after 10.5 update

currently running 10.5.8


Would like to reinstall OS X on my Macbook


CD's that came with the Mac are 10.3


when I try to install from cd I get


"Cannot install on this computer"


though the system was originally installed from these cd's


"Command + R" doesn't work on my computer


booting via cd (command c when rebooting) doesn't work


help!!!!

It's not clear on what model of Mac you're using, so it's almost impossible to guess at a solution.


booting via cd (command c when rebooting) doesn't work

The proper method would be to just hold down the "c" key, not the command and "c" keys.


Command + R" doesn't work on my computer

Will only work with Lion (10.7) or above.

You need to specify exactly which Mac you have (About this Mac in the Apple Menu) and what kind of CPU is installed. OS X 10.3 Panther was PowerPC (PPC) only. 10.5 Leopard could be installed on either Intel or PPC Macs but Leopard was the end of the line for PPC Macs. If those CD's really are the original install CD's, try holding down just the C key as you boot with the CD already in the drive. Also, 10.5 only came on CD's too, so if it's installed now on your Mac, do you have the CD's used to do that?
