why cant i avoid toll routes on apple map app

I used to think there was, but I don't believe avoiding toll roads is a feature in the current apple maps. Google Maps has that feature. In my experience it isn't always perfect. Usually when you select directions in Apple Maps though it gives you multiple rout options and if you have an idea which are toll roads you can tap on the alternative rout. It is frustrating I know but I am sure it will be a future update.
