Nov 7, 2014 8:40 AM in response to Phil0124by Carlo Yvan, sir i didnt set up a time machine before i update my mac to yosemite. is that okay? sorry im slow in understanding. thanks for helping tho.

Nov 7, 2014 8:42 AM in response to Carlo Yvanby Phil0124,Yes. You do not need TimeMachine for internet recovery. Though, you will want to manually backup any files you want to preserve, since Internet Recovery will wipe your hard drive completely clean before installing the Original OS: So you will loose anything that was not previously backed up.

Nov 7, 2014 8:46 AM in response to Carlo Yvanby Carlo Yvan, sir i dont how to do it. cant understand it clearly. i cant find the button for internet recovery button. i did the restart > command R. and do i need to do this first sir? > Some drive partition configurations can result in the OS X Installer reporting that it cannot create a Recovery System. If this happens, you might want to quit the installation and create an external OS X hard drive with a Recovery System first. You can continue installing OS X on your computer's startup drive after creating an external Recovery System.

Nov 7, 2014 9:03 AM in response to Carlo Yvanby Phil0124,If your Mac doesn’t currently exhibit the symptoms required for Internet Recovery to auto-launch simply restart your Mac while holding Command+Option+R until you see a spinning globe appear along with a message about the recovery mode. If you have a Mac with a wireless keyboard you should wait a few seconds before pressing and holding the keys after you first see the light grey boot screen.
This will force your Mac to launch Internet Recovery. You’ll know that you are in Internet Recovery when you see a spinning globe like the one above and a meter running underneath it.

Nov 7, 2014 10:17 AM in response to Carlo Yvanby Phil0124,Internet recovery needs to download the entire installation package for the OS. It may take a long time depending on your internet connection.
around 4 or 5GB of data need to be downloaded.
This is not something that will happen in 5 or 10 minutes.
If it cannot verify the install, it won't install it.
Why it cannot verify it I do not know.
Is there some reason to absolutely need Mavericks?
