How can I disable the Auto Recent Contact Group in email

Did anyone ever get back to you? It is extremely tedious to have to delete every group of messages people have included me on to their’s. I really don’t want to be on anyone else’s group and when I can click the little! And delete or remove I tried to but this again is extremely tedious.

I have groups of people and names from four years ago popping up when I begin a text message. Today I could not even find my brother’s number because it was buried in so many “recent “ contacts......which prompted this search..... There’s got to be a way to prevent each grouping from being saved as recent. Hopefully I will stumble upon the answer.....

I saw your link on another post. i don't know if you can disable the feature but if my iPad is any guide you should be able to slide the contacts to the left then tap delete.

If you only want to select from saved contacts, then tap the Plus ( + ) sign on the right of the address bar to bring up your actual contacts list instead of using this method.

You can still type a few letters into the search box at the top of the contact list to find your contact quickly.

Agreed! This is tedious and I too am wondering if anyone knows how to mass delete or keep it from saving recent group text contact info.

If you find a fix, please post! I’m still having the issue and haven’t found anything! I’m close to going to the Genius Bar:(
