Mar 10, 2015 7:06 AM in response to Jsai Joeby zoso4,I have not had any crashes before or after iOS 8.2. I haven't seen that issue reported on any other iPhone forums. All I had was the shortcuts not deleting. And unless your jailbroken, all you can do is restore the phone as new.

It’s nothing to do with crashing. It’s to do with keyboard shortcuts not synching correctly and re-appearing when deleted.

Read the comments above yours. Demanapple87 speaks of crashing. Maybe he meant Vanishing.

Mar 12, 2015 7:11 AM in response to zoso4by skit347,Can you delete the shortcuts, backup your phone, then restore from backup?
-
Mar 12, 2015 10:06 AM in response to skit347by zoso4,I don't think that works. It appears the shortcuts are not actually stored in iCloud as other documents and data are stored. I tried deleting the shortcuts and immediately doing a fresh back up. They stayed gone until I did a reboot of any kind. So I think if you deleted them. Then restored to a new back up of iCloud, you'll still get them back with a reboot. Actually they would most likely be there after restoring. Apple told me to restore as new. That worked. It wiped out every single shortcut I had listed. So I was able to start fresh. Plus, I can delete a shortcut now and it stays gone.

Mar 12, 2015 10:09 AM in response to zoso4by pagemakers4,I'm glad a full restore worked for you.
I'm not prepared to do that.
Apple need to sort their act out and fix this iOS 8 bug once and for all.

Mar 12, 2015 11:26 AM in response to zoso4by skit347,yeah, thanks. I dont feel like re-doing everything after a "set up new phone". Hopefully apple will read this discussion and fix the issue.

Mar 12, 2015 11:56 AM in response to skit347by zoso4,Yeah. I really needed to do a restore as new. I had other issues as well. I'm on my old iP 5. It was a bit of a hassle, but I cured several issues, gained 1.3 gb if storage back, and it runs smoother. I'm can only suggest 1. Delete the unwanted shortcuts. 2. Immediately do an iCloud back up. 3. Don't reboot or you'll have to do 1 and 2 again. ☮

Mar 12, 2015 6:36 PM in response to rdub76by M.Hayward,Success so far it's been two days and the shortcuts have not returned
did the changes on both devices as step by step
on both devices I went to settings / / general / keyboard / Shortcuts, tapped edit, then clicked the red circles, leaving just one shortcut
then on both Apple devices I went to settings / general / keyboard/ and turned off dictatation / clicked the pop up "turn off dictation" then turned Dictatation back on
Turned off both the iPad and iPhone then back on
on both went to settings / / general / keyboard / Shortcuts, then clicked edit and removed the last remaining shortcut
warning the spell checker and seri took a while to learn my texting style and acted like is was vary messed up at first
i just wrote note in notes 100 or so words and it seems fine now it still relearning learning my commen writing style
good luck

Mar 12, 2015 7:44 PM in response to M.Haywardby zoso4,I hope you got it! But you didn't mention if you have rebooted since doing all that. Do a hard reset and see if the shortcuts come back. Hold the top power/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release. Good luck! Let us know if they come back.
