Q: Does Yosemite support Final cut express

I have an iMac running under OSX 10.9.5

I use Final Cut Express version 4.0.1 for editing video non-HD

If I upgrade to Yosemite will I still be able to use this version of Final Cut Express please?

FCE was discontinued in June 2011 even before Lion was released. Apple no longer supports FCE and there is no guarantee that it will run on Yosemite. You can try upgrading but, as I said, there are no guarantees.

Many thanks for the information - I was not aware that FCE had been discontinued. What software do you suggest that I use in place of FCE if I migrate to Yosemite? My video camera is an excellent Sony (non-HD) so I do not wish to purchase a new one! Final Cut is too expensive and sophisticated while iMovie is a bit too simple for my liking.
