Q: Ipad To Apple TV - Airplay Hangs

I am streaming a film on my ipad and there are no drops or lags at all. Everything is fine. But when I use Airplay and mirror the Ipad onto my Apple TV (connected to internet by Ethernet cable) the film hangs and often drops back onto my Ipad at varying intervals. So film is completely unwatchable via my Apple TV!

I have checked my internet speed by plugging same Etherner into my PC and I am getting 60+ Mb/s download and 3+ Mb/s upload.

Why is Apple TV hanging/dropping the Airplay connection?

Thanks

Chris

    Welcome to the Apple Community.

Your download speed is unrelated to your LAN performance.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.

    1. Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
    2. Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
    3. Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    4. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    5. Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    6. Restart your mobile device.
