Q: Group emails not forwarded to members

Since upgrading to Yosemite and Server 4 I am no longer receiving any emails sent to my groups, which have emails configured. The following are screenshots of the configuration (I believe it is configured correctly, as it was updated from Server 3):

I do believe emails are getting delivered, as I am not getting any bounce errors when sending from gmail or iCloud to these two addresses. However, I am not getting any notifications for the two members of this group.

Any thoughts what might be going on here or how I might troubleshoot this?

I have almost the same problem. Only With Server 5.

And the strange thing is that it works form external but not internal between the domains hosted on the server.

    so i have domain 1 and domain2

and from domain 1 i can't sent a mail to domain 2 list group. External mail adres can sent to the group of domain 2.

    Hi,

After my custom virtual_users file was wiped out again (I was warned) I took it upon myself to finally implement the group emails using the GUI. I can confirm that using OS X 10.11 with Server 5 you still need the steps from Miggl to get the mail lists working.

I can confirm that this bad behaviour is still there with App server 5 on El Capitan 10.11.3.

Worst, I have two servers, so I need to put three adress for every group and user :

    user@domain.com

    user@server1.domain.com

    user@server2.comain.com

to make sure it works.  Terrible behaviour.  Hard to believe Apple has not fixed this yet.

Do you mean domein 1 and 2 ore server ?

I have treed now everything i think. Mails from external are working. But when i mail from a internal domein that is also hosted on the same server.

It is not routed and i get a error no receipts found.

This is my setup now :

    - domein.com

    - domein2.com

    -domein3.com

    -server.domein.com

Users that are using domein 2 are having names like :

    user_domein2 / mail adres user@domein2.com and mailadres user_domein2@domein2.com

    Groups are

    info_domein2 / mailadres info@domein2.com

    Groupmember

    user_domein2

    What do i miss ?

@Miggl's workaround from December 2014 sorted this out for me. Although I'm on now on OS X Server 5.1 El Capitan.

But I still think this is a bug. So I raised one #25851429

@Patrick Savelberg. I really mean servers.  I have one domain but two servers in my OpenDirectory.  Bot of which have the mail service activated and I replicate mail between the two.

    Edit the file /Library/Server/Mail/Config/postfix/main.cf

Find the "masquerade_domains" line, and add your domain name to that line.

    Example: masquerade_domains = yourdomain.com

This tells postfix to strip off any subdomains in email message addresses, i.e. "user@server.yourdomain.com" is automagically changed to "user@yourdomain.com" which fixes multiple things, including this group email list bug. You'll have to stop & start mail services to enable the new settings.
