When you tap and hold down in the document in the email, you should get a pop up window that will show the MS word app as a selection to Open In. Tap on MS Word in that window and the document will open in the app, where you should be able to edit it. It will also save the document in the app, and from there can email it from the action or share icon in the app.

Hi thanks for reply when I clicked on attachment I opened it in with word and all that happened and I could do with it is save it but that was it it opened the same as before where you can't do anything with it . I have since deleted the app and downloaded office 365 free version but even though it opens and can put cross in some boxes it doesn't type words into spaces required ? Really lost as to what I'm doing wrong

You might not be doing anything wrong. I tried to download the application to see if I could fill it in using Pages, but I can't download it. I can email the link and when I open it, it simply takes me back to the website where the document resides in the scribd.com website. If you can place X's in some of the boxes, I would have to believe that the document can be edited but that's not necessarily so. If you open the file in Word, and you can't type text in the places where you think that you should be able to, I'm thinking that something is wrong with the file.

Just so that I know we are talking about the same document, you are in the UK, correct? And this is a job application? If both are correct, did you request this to be emailed to you from the company?
