compass on my iPhone 6 will not calibrate

Force quit the Compass app by pushing the home button twice quickly and then swiping up on the Compass app. Then try resetting the phone: push the home button and power/lock button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. See if that helps.

If the calibration won't spin make sure you are not in airplane mode.

I try all sorts of ways to calibrate but it doesn't work is stuck on the screen

Do you have a case on your iphone?

Does the case have some sort of magnet?

Remove case and try again.

iPhone 6s running 9.2.1 with the same issue. Not of the above tips worked.

MY lock button on my iPhone 6 doesn't work and assistive touch's lock doesn't let me do a hard reset is there any way to do anything else I can still turn it off and back on with a charger it there anything that could help me

Thank you very much - this fixed my problem. I had compass calibration turned off for battery usage issues.
